HAPPY Federer breezes past Dimitrov

Roger Federer is an extremely happy and relaxed guy right now.

The Swiss sensation has reached his 15th Wimbledon quarters after he shrugged off Grigor Dimitrov in straight sets in the 4th round on Monday.

Roger was always on top of the Bulgarian also because Dimitrov wasn’t as sharp as usual with his serve and he committed some decisive errors in critical moments especially with his forehand. Probably the most important part of the match started from the 7th game of the opener when Roger was 3-4 down, but on serve. The Swiss won 9 of the following 11 games to grab a decisive 6-4 6-2 lead. Federer lost his first service game when he was leading 4-3 in the third set, but then he broke back immediately. Roger conquered the contest soon after with a smooth 6-4 6-2 6-4 scoreline.

I am relaxed. FEDERER

During the post-match interview, Roger commented

“I can look at this quarter-final in a totally relaxed fashion. Physically I’m not fighting anything like last year with my knee. I’m ready to go this afternoon if I have to, which is great, but I don’t have to. I think that’s a great bonus.

Then again, the best players are left in the draw. It’s going to be a tough one. I’m aware of that. That’s why I can’t think too far ahead. I think it’s going to be a tough finish to this tournament.”

Next vs. Raonic

Roger will face Milos Raonic in the quarter-final. Roger leads the Canadian 9-3, 2-1 on grass. Milos has defeated Roger in their 2 last encounters, and he beat the Swiss in the Wimbledon semi-final last year. The Swiss remains the favorite to reach the semi-finals, and with Nadal out he is definitely in pole position to win the whole thing.

RELAXED AND STRONG
