The Argentine is already playing a good tennis after a long hiatus (wrist injury) to concede just 4 games to Tim Smyczek in 96 minutes. The match lasted only 6 games (3-all), then the Argentine won 9 of the following 10 games to win 6-4 6-0.

Next vs. Berdych
Delpo will have a much trickier task in the 2nd round against Tomas Berdych. A win would give an amazing boost of confidence to the Tower of Tandil. Head to head is 4-2 for Del Potro, but Berdych is now the favorite.
