Andy Murray and Novak Djokovic seems to be at the antipodes with their position on vaccinations

Andy Murray and Novak Djokovic are on great terms even if they may disagree about one important thing: vaccination.

The former British number 1 announces that he got his booster to stress that it is extremely important to trust science, a position that doesn’t seem to be shared by Djokovic. Andy releases the following statement on social media:

“Got my 3rd microchip injected into me today. Joking aside..science is the best. Thank you scientists, thank you doctors and health care workers for the incredible work you are doing.”

Djokovic, the vaccination and the Australian Open

Unfortunately, Novak Djokovic is notoriously against vaccination. While the Serbian champion declined to disclose his vaccination status, it is widely believed that he has not taken his jabs. Novak was originally on the entry list of both ATP Cup and the Australian Open. Unfortunately, he has already withdrawn from the former.

When asked to comment about Novak Djokovic’s position on vaccinations, Andy Murray commented:

“I don’t know what the situation is with Novak. The latest I saw was that he was on the entry list, and I assume he’s playing and has been vaccinated. We were told they were the rules – if you want to play, you have to be vaccinated – so I’m assuming that’s what’s happened.”
