SHOCKING. Djokovic out of the ATP Cup to probably not play the Australian Open

Unfortunately, it is becoming more and more implausible that Novak Djokovic will play the Australian Open after withdrawing from the ATP Cup

Novak Djokovic

Novak Djokovic is at the center of a rather big mystery and controversy. The Serbian legend has been chasing a historical 21st slam to become the ATP player with most majors under his belt. Novak won the Australian Open 9 times and that he would be the favorite to win in Melbourne again this coming January.

Will Djokovic play the Australian Open?

However, all tennis players need to be fully vaccinated or have a medical exemption to compete in the Australian Open. Unfortunately, the world number 1 is notoriously against vaccinations, and there have been doubts about his participation in the Australian Open. Even if Djokovic was in both the entry lists of the ATP Cup and the Australian Open, doubts remained about his eventual trip down Under.

Unfortunately, it seems that Novak withdrew from the ATP Cup and therefore, it is becoming more and more improbable that he will play the Australian Open.

Still, everything needs to be confirmed and we still hope to see Novak competing for his 21st slam in January.
