The Bryans wins the title in Rome

The Americans grab their 112th career title in Italy

The Bryan Brothers win their 4th title in Rome. The feat came after the Americans defeated Sock and Pospisil in the final 2-6 6-2 10-7 in 71 minutes.

Bob Bryan. Our target was to win 10 titles in our career

The Bryans have won 112 titles so far, and funny enough they had a much lower target at the beginning of their stellar career. Bob Bryan commented “I would have never thought we would have got to that number. It sounds crazy. When we won our first title back in 2001, we were looking at 10 – that was the brothers’ record, held by Tim Gullikson and Tom Gullikson. We beat that and we just kept going.

Luckily we’ve been healthy. This feels good. We turned 38 last week, and we’re not young chicks anymore. It’s nice to get titles when we can, and everyone feels good.”

Next stop: the French Open.
