Djokovic and Nadal start in style in Beijing

An ordinary day for the big 2 in Beijing.

Djokovic

Nole said that he will fight and fight for his no.1 ranking. He is widely expected to lose it after this week, but he may give it a shot to keep the rank for the year end, but that still improbable unless Rafa gets injured (hope not!!!). The Serb defeated Rosol 6-0 6-3 in just 53 minutes. Nole hasn’t dropped a single service game to break Rosol 4 times.

Djokovic: I have a perfect record on this court

Nole has a wonderful 15-0 record in Beijing to comment “I have the perfect record on this court and this tournament. I have been saying it before and I’ll say it again: I really feel special in China in relation to the fans, because I don’t get to see that often. The fans basically wait for you every single day and night in the hotel.   “

Next vs. Verdasco

Nole will play Fernando Verdasco in the next round. Head to head is 5-4 for Nole that has lost the last two matches against the Spaniard

Nadal

Rafa is going for the first spot in the rankings. He “just” needs to reach the final in Beijing and he started rather well his Chinese campaign to beat Giraldo 6-2 6-4 in 1 hour and 29 minutes.

Rafa: “So I’m going to try to keep working hard

Nadal is rather happy about his current fitness to keep his focus on being always healthy and fit. “Here we are, 27 years old, and it’s much more than what I ever dreamed. So I’m going to try to keep working hard. If I’m able to do it, if I am able to be healthy and to compete well for the next four years, I am going to try to create opportunities to keep winning in important tournaments. “

Next vs. Kohlschreiber

Rafa will play Philipp Kohlschreiber in the next round. Head to head is 10-1 for Rafa. Guess who is the favourite here?
