Bianca Andreescu seems unable to find peace. The Canadian sensation has been struggling with all sorts of injuries during the last two years and now she is grounded by the coronavirus after testing positive in Madrid.

According to Bianca, she tested negative twice before departing to Europe. However, she had the horrible surprise to be found positive when she arrived in Spain. The consequence is that she will not be able to compete at the upcoming Madrid Open. At least the good news is that she feels wells.

This is Bianca Andreescu’s statement:

“Dear fans,
After testing negative twice before my flight to Madrid, I was sadly informed that I tested positive upon arrival for COVID-19 and therefore will not be playing at the Madrid Open later this week. I am feeling good, I’m resting and continuing to follow the health protocols and safety guidelines. I look forward to getting back out on the court very soon.”

Bianca is widely expected to play the following tournament in Rome after missing Madrid. She has recently reached the final at the Miami Open. However, once again she was not lucky since she had to retire from the match after rolling her ankle.
