Azarenka, Radwanska and Wozniacki advance in Doha

No surprises in day 3 in Doha as all top players got to the 3rd round. Maybe the only upset was Marion Bartoli that seeded no.9 was defeated by former world no. 1 Svetlana Kuznetsova.

Azarenka

Vika Azarenka breezed past Romina Oprandi 6-2 6-3 in just 72 minutes. The beginning of the match wasn’t as smooth for Vika to comment

“It was a little bit of a slow start, and I had to adjust. I couldn’t go for my shots, and I had to be a bit more patient. She is tricky and plays so many different balls that you don’t know what to expect. I had to focus more and move my feet more.”.

Vika will play Christina McHale in the third round. Head to head is 1-0 for McHale that won the only match in Charlestone 2010 as Vika had to retire when she was 6-2 2-2 up.

Radwanska

Agnieszka won a comfortable 6-3 6-2 match in 75 minutes against Anastasia Rodionova of Australia. A very clean victory as she wasn’t broken to break Rodionova 3 times.

The Pole will play the 3rd round against Ana Ivanovic. Head to head is 5-3 for Radwanska that won the last 5.

Wozniacki

Caroline defeated Sorana Cirstea 7-6 (7) 6-0 in 83 minutes. The Dane will play the third round against Mona Barthel that trashed Angelique Kerber 6-1 6-2 and she is in top form. Head to head is 2-0 for Caroline that has never lost a set with Mona.
