Quarry Bay to welcome new permanent padel destination
Following a series of successful temporary courts and activities during 2024, Swire Properties is expanding Taikoo Place’s sports offering with a permanent padel venue due to open in Quarry Bay in mid-November. Through coaching sessions, school programs and corporate tournaments, the earlier initiatives introduced padel to office workers, residents and visitors.
More than 18,900 participant visits and upwards of 4,100 hours of court use were recorded during the pilot. That strong community response led Taikoo Place to turn the trial project into a permanent sports venue.
Wellness amenities to complement 6 international-standard courts
The venue, described by Swire Properties as Hong Kong’s largest urban padel facility, will contain 6 courts meeting international competition standards. Half will be outdoors and the other half covered, providing options as weather conditions change.
Cold plunges and saunas will be available to support players’ recovery after matches. The complex, which will operate 7 days a week, is also planned to include event zones, shops, and food and beverage venues.
Details on the operator, site and reservations
PADEL, which already runs a padel venue in Sai Kung, will operate the new club. Spread across 8 Shipyard Lane and 1067 King’s Road in Quarry Bay, the facility will be located a short walk from Taikoo MTR station.
The club will welcome both members of the public and office tenants at Taikoo Place. Organizers have yet to announce prices, an exact opening date, booking details, coaching programs or membership choices, with further information set to be shared on the venue’s official Instagram channel.
