Society Park, a destination centered around padel, pickleball, restaurants, and social areas rather than conventional golf courses, is scheduled to open on Orlando’s International Drive. A portion of the former Wyndham resort on Sand Lake Road will be transformed into a contemporary hub that combines sports and leisure with a soft opening scheduled for April 2026.
What will be included in the complex
Padel courts, pickleball courts, two restaurants, a pro shop, and an on-site spa are all part of the project. Both competitive tournaments and informal get-togethers are intended to be accommodated by the design. The layout of the renderings is reminiscent of a container park, with local restaurant concepts being prioritized above national brands.
Why padel is essential
Investors have been encouraged to wager on this court-heavy idea because to Padel’s explosive rise in the US. The number of courts in the country increased from over 180 in 2022 to over 450 in 2023, according to Padel Dynasty. Society Park hopes to take advantage of this momentum by providing a space that can accommodate serious matches and foster social interactions.
The role on International Drive
The broader renovation at 8001 International Drive, which also includes a brand-new InterContinental hotel, incorporates Society Park. The facility, which spans about 2.4 acres, is being constructed by Unicorp, with Moxie Brands directing brand strategy and Build Ventures supervising construction.
The vision of developers
According to Unicorp, the project is a small but lively area. Noting that the idea is intended to appeal to younger audiences, they emphasized the combination of courts, dining establishments, and social spaces. Padel drinks and menus that highlight locally sourced cuisine are even included in the pitch.
Society Park is anticipated to transform I-Drive’s entertainment scene by bringing padel to a larger audience and providing a novel substitute for theme parks and big restaurants.
