Once Roger Federer was asked about his favourite city in the world and the great player seemed a bit confused. He said that there were a lot of places that are really cool and he can surely travel to all these cities. Therefore, it’s difficult for him to point out his favourite city. He said:
“There are a lot of entertaining cities; I live a very cool life. I must say that I can travel to all these places, so it’s hard to choose from.”
Which are Federer’s favourite cities in the world?
Among his favourite cities are New York, Shanghai, Paris and London. If he is asked to pick the best out of these four then he will pick New York. He says that the Big Apple is the craziest and coolest place in the world.
Federer last won the US Open in 2008 but he feels that this year he stands his best chance to win. If he wins this year then it will be his 6th US Open title. He, however, understands that he is not the top favourite to win as he was in 2006 or 2007. He says:
“I’m not coming in as the overwhelming favourite like maybe I did back in 2006 or 2007. I’m very much aware of how I need to approach this tournament mentally.”
“Two years ago I came in with a back issue a little bit, I had a struggle early on with five-setters. Last year I struggled with the heat against Millman. Obviously, in 2016, I missed it entirely. ”
He said that he felt his best coming to the tournament this year and he has his best chance this year. He says:
“We were saying on the practice court two days ago that this is probably the best I’ve felt in years coming into the US Open again, which is encouraging.
I’ve been playing well and playing well in the slams recently, which has been great. I also think the win over Rafael) in the Wimbledon semis was big for me. Also the final, the way I played that, is going to give me some extra confidence.”

Roger loves bringing his wife Mirka and his family with him in the cities that he likes the most. After been followed in Wimbledon by his loved ones, Roger has the luxury to have the support of his family also in the last slam of the year.

Ranked no.3, Federer has a 41-6 win-loss record in 2019. Roger is currently playing at the U.S. Open where he defeated Sumit Nagal 4-6 6-1 6-2 6-4 and Damir Dzumhur 3-6 6-2 6-3 6-4.
The Swiss has won 3 titles in 2019 in Dubai, Miami and Halle. He was the finalist in Indian Wells and in Wimbledon.
