Tsitsipas about being friend of Nick Kyrgios

Stefanos talks about his relationship with Nick

Stefanos Tsitsipas and Nick Kyrgios are going to clash in a mouth-watering semifinal in Washington. Even if Stefanos and Nick had some spats over Social Media when the Australian made fun of his blogs, they are still enjoying a fantastic relationship.

Many were surprised when it was announced that Nick and Stefanos would have played doubles together in Washington at the Citi Open as it seemed as that was a “forced” decision taken only for attracting more interest on the competition. However, the pair was clearly enjoying it, showing chemistry that no one would have predicted. Eventually, they ended up losing in the 1st round to the no.1 seeds (Farah and Cabal), but both revealed that they enjoyed the experience.

He is a very good friend. TSITSIPAS

During an interview following his recent win over Benoit Paire, Stefanos made some comments about his relationship with Kyrgios to say: “We are good friends. He is a really nice guy. He’s unpredictable. I have to be careful of his shot selection and play my game.”

He smells good. KYRGIOS

Earlier in the week, Nick had one of his hilarious comments after their doubles to say: “He’s only just begun. Hopefully, he doesn’t make the same mistakes I have. If he keeps his head down, he can do some special things. He smells good as well. Every time before we’d serve I would [a deep inhale] —‘not bad’.”

Head to head Tsitsipas vs. Kyrgios

This will be the first time that they will face each other on the main tour. Tsitsipas may be considered as the favorite, but you really never know with the Australian that is also playing rather good tennis this week. When Kyrgios is dialed-in in a given tournament, he is really dangerous and instantly becomes one of the favorites to win the title.
