Amanda Anisimova has been probably the biggest surprise of the French Open.
The 17-year-old managed to get to the semifinal in Paris when she was also quite close to defeating the new champion Ashleigh Barty after she was 7-6 3-0 up in the second set playing amazing tennis. However, the American teenager couldn’t make it to leave the competition with mixed feelings even if the fortnight was overall great for her.
Amanda Anisimova on grass
Amanda is about to start the grass season where she has almost no experience as she didn’t compete on this surface in the last few years. However, as she stated, it seems that her game could be suitable for the grass with her ability to mix up her lightening shots with some variations.
The American decided to start her run on this surface at the Libema Open where she will face Natalia Vikhlyantseva for the first time of her career.
