Amanda Anisimova has been the big surprise of the Roland Garros.

Even if the American is widely expected to scale to be a top-ranked player in the years to come, no one really predicted she could reach the semifinals at 17 years of age at the Roland Garros and without dropping any set on the way. The teenager was also 3 games away from getting into the final when she was leading Ashleigh Barty 7-6 3-0 in the final 4, but eventually she couldn’t make it.

My game is suitable for Wimbledon

Anisimova was quite upset after losing he semifinal in Paris, but looking at the whole picture she admitted that she had a fantastic run at the French Open and she shared her hopes for the upcoming grass season and her chances in Wimbledon.

Amanda commented

“I played junior Wimbledon one time and I lost, like, 13-11 in the third set or something. Everyone tells me my game suits grass well, but that time I didn’t leave thinking that.

Hopefully, with a little bit more practice and getting used to it, then maybe I can do well. We’ll see how this year goes.”
