This week has seen significant shifts in the tennis rankings following three prestigious grass-court events: Halle, Queen’s Club, and Berlin.
Carlos Alcaraz, who needed to reach the final of Queen’s Club to maintain his No. 2 ranking, fell in the second round of the ATP 500 event. Consequently, Alcaraz drops to No. 3, and Novak Djokovic rises from No. 3 to No. 2. With Wimbledon seeds being announced, Jannik Sinner and Djokovic (if he plays) will be the No. 1 and No. 2 seeds, respectively, with Alcaraz as the No. 3 seed. This means Alcaraz might have to face both Sinner and Djokovic to defend his title.
Hubert Hurkacz achieved a new career-high ranking, rising from No. 9 to No. 7 after finishing as the runner-up to Sinner at the ATP 500 event in Halle. This surpasses his previous best of No. 8 and solidifies his record as the highest-ranked Polish player in ATP history. Other top Polish players include Iga Swiatek (career-high No. 1 in 2022), Agnieszka Radwanska (career-high No. 2 in 2012), and Wojtek Fibak (career-high No. 10 in 1977).
Tommy Paul also saw a significant ranking boost, rising from No. 13 back to his career-high ranking of No. 12 after winning Queen’s Club. By switching spots with Taylor Fritz, who drops to No. 13, Paul becomes the new American men’s No. 1. Additionally, Sebastian Korda cracked the Top 20, moving from No. 23 to No. 20 after reaching the semifinals of Queen’s Club.
On the WTA side, Anna Kalinskaya made her Top 20 debut, jumping from No. 24 to No. 17 after finishing as the runner-up at the WTA 500 event in Berlin. Kalinskaya has made remarkable progress over the past eight months, climbing from No. 115 last October to her current position. She broke into the Top 100 in November, the Top 50 in January after reaching the Australian Open quarterfinals, the Top 30 in February after reaching the Dubai final, and now the Top 20.

Two more notable debuts in the ATP rankings include Great Britain’s Jack Draper, who rose from No. 31 to No. 29 after reaching the quarterfinals of Queen’s Club and defeating Alcaraz, and China’s Zhang Zhizhen, who climbed from No. 42 to No. 33 after making it to the semifinals in Halle and defeating No. 5-ranked Daniil Medvedev.

Currently the world no.17 (career-high), Anna played her last match on the 23rd of June when she was defeated by world no.5 Jessica Pegula 6-7(0) 6-4 7-6(3) in the final in Berlin (draw).
Currently, during this season Kalinskaya has achieved an overall 25-12 win-loss record. Anna Kalinskaya’s best performance of this year was reaching the final in Dubai and Berlin.
