Simona Halep beats Viktoria Kuzmova 6-0 6-0 to reach the quarterfinals in Madrid.
The Match
Halep had a very easy win over the 46th ranked Kuzmova 6-0 6-0 in 44 minutes. The world no.3 lost just 12 points in the match. This was a very tough match for Slovakian Kuzmova as Halep scored 84 percent points on her first serve and 73 percent on her second serve.
The Romanian will now face either Ash Barty or Yulia Putintseva in the quarterfinals.
Halep has won this tournament in 2016 and 2017 and will be hoping to win it again this year.

“The roof was good for me because the game was faster and I could play my best style. I think everything went very well for me today. I felt the ball, every single shot.”
About her opponent Halep commented:
“I don’t think it was her best match. Maybe she was nervous before the match a little bit, it’s a big tournament and it’s not easy to face the top players. I’ve been in that position. I played my best tennis and I felt good on the court.”
