Sascha Zverev and Andy Murray are living 2 completely different moments of their career.

At 21 years of age, the German is ready to take over as the next big one after he conquered already 3 Masters ATP1000 and the ATP Finals. On the other side, Andy Murray is at the very end of his glorious career after the Brit won 45 tournaments, 3 slams, 2 Olympics, the Davis Cup and he reached the top of the rankings.

On Friday, Andy announced his imminent retirement during a very emotional press conference and he received a great tribute from the entire tennis world and beyond.

Sascha Zverev’s tribute

The German played against Andy only once, and that was 3 years ago at the Australian Open when Andy won in the 1st round 6-1 6-2 6-3. Sascha commented

“Right before the @australianopen start I want throw it back to the 2016 Australian open when I played one of the best players and a true legend of our sport @andymurray .

All of us will have a time where we have to say goodbye to the sport we love so much and I want to wish you all the best for the last period of your career.

We as players know how much you’ve been thru the last few months and years and we all really hope that you can enjoy playing and competing hopefully a few more times.

At the end of the day, we are all competitors but we are also one big family on the tour that’s why I want to wish you all the best for your last Australian open. I will be watching and cheering for sir Andy 😉😉.”
