After Stefanos Tsitsipas crashed out of the top ten, there was an ongoing discussion about the demise of the one-handed backhand. In fact, it was the first time in history that there was no player using this shot in the top ten. Fortunately, according to the live rankings, after Grigor Dimitrov reached the Miami final, we will have at least 1 player again using the one-handed backhand starting Monday.

At the moment ranked no.12, the Bulgarian played his last match on the 29th of March when he overcame world no.5 Alexander Zverev 6-4 6-7(4) 6-4 in the semifinal in Miami (draw).

Until now, during this year Grigor has achieved a compiled 20-4 win-loss record. The Bulgarian conquered 1 title in Brisbane. The Bulgarian reached the final in Marseille.

Dimitrov is scheduled to play next in Monte-Carlo Rolex Masters (Monte–Carlo). He will start the tournament from the main draw that will commence on the 7th of April.
