At 21 years of age, Sascha Zverev is already one of the strongest players on tour.
During his brief and successful career, the German has been criticized for being too blunt during some post-match interviews. Sascha surprised the 10th of August of this year when after being defeated by Tsitsipas in Toronto, he said that his loss was due mainly because of his “pathetic” performance diminishing the effort put by his conqueror.
Tsitsipas replies to Zverev’s comments about their tennis level
I want to be honest. ZVEREV
During a recent interview with the media outlet Tennis Magazin, Sascha revealed
“I want to be an honest player on tour.
Many of my colleagues sit down at the press conference and say, ‘My opponent played well’ get up and leave.
I honestly answer if I played good or bad. For that, I have had to take a lot of criticism, for saying that ‘the performance or the match was ridiculous.’ I heard the criticism.”
Sascha is currently in Perth, where he will kick-start his 2019 campaign playing the Hopman Cup with Angelique Kerber. Last year he lost in the final to Roger Federer and Belinda Bencic, this year he will try to go 1 step further.
