Tsitsipas replies to Zverev’s comments about their tennis level

Stefanos Tsitsipas defeated 3 top10 players in 3 consecutive matches in Toronto. The last casualty was the world no.3 Sascha Zverev that was beaten after failing to serve out the match while leading 6-3 5-3 before losing in 3 sets.

What Zverev said

Unfortunately, Sascha was so disappointed to have a not-so-great press conference. The German appeared upset at every question to comment

“I don’t think he played that well. I think the match was absolutely pathetic on all levels. I’m very honest with you guys. Today was an absolute pathetic match I don’t even think he played well.”

The reply from Tsitsipas

Even if Zverev’s comments were criticized by many as it was diminishing Tsitsipas’ effort, the Greek managed to keep his composure when he was asked his reply on Sascha’s statement.

Stefanos replied

“The level of tennis today, in my opinion, was not the highest. It was alright. I would say I played OK. I would say I played more clever this time I kind of fooled him when I was on the court, did some things he didn’t expect me to do.”

This is going to be an interesting rivalry!
