Matteo Berrettini is currently in New York where he will try to have a good and deep run at the US Open. The Italian sensation loves being in New York even if it is a rather chaotic city.
During a recent interview, Matteo explains how he likes to bring order when he is playing the US Open. He reveals that rituals are very important for him like eating and spending time with his family and team at the restaurant of his dear friend Giovanni Bartocci.
Giovanni is a huge fan of Matteo. He is the owner of the popular Italian restaurant Via Della Pace, a sort of landmark for the Italian community and tennis players.
Matteo commented:
“A nice chaos to play in New York. There are so many people, so much noise that you have to be good at managing the tournament both inside and out. I’m here with my team and my family: we like to be together, to dine at my friend Giovanni Bartocci’s restaurants. Rituals are used to bring order in the chaos of New York ”

LWWWWWLLWW Ranked no.14, Berrettini has managed to achieve a compiled 23-9 match record in 2022. The Italian is participating at the U.S. Open where he overcame the world no.123 Nicolas Jarry 6-2 6-3 6-3 and the world no.119 Hugo Grenier 2-6 6-1 7-64 7-67.
Matteo Berrettini will play the world no.51 Andy Murray in the 3rd round on Friday at 12:00 pm on Arthur Ashe Stadium. Their record is 2-1 for Berrettini.
