The FIP Silver Guimarães trophy completed an unforgettable week in Portugal for Nacho Vilariño and Juan ‘Coquito’ Zamora. The Spanish pair came through a demanding path, with their final push beginning with a semi-final victory over Aris Patiniotis and Diego Garcia.
Rama Valenzuela and Dani Santigosa provided the opposition in the final, but Vilariño and Zamora sealed the championship 7-6, 6-2. It was Zamora’s second title in Portugal this season after his FIP Silver success in Porto at the end of July, while the 18-year-old had also won the FIP Silver in Espoo, Finland, in August. Vilariño, meanwhile, collected his 5th CUPRA FIP Tour trophy of the campaign.
