Nadal and Ferrer to clash in Madrid quarter final

Rafa and David will clash once again on clay. This is usually not good news for Ferrer that has a terrible 1-14 record vs. Nadal on clay (as everybody else) as he defeated him only the first time they playe each other.

Nadal – Youzhny 6-2 6-3

Easy stuff for Rafa that conceded only 5 games in 74 minutes of play against the Russian. Rafa is getting more and more confident to comment “Since I’ve been back, I haven’t had the security that I am in my perfect moment,

I just have to try and feel that I am getting better and better day after day. So, I have to have my feet on the ground. I made it to the quarter-finals of Madrid. For me, it’s lovely to be able to say that today. I’ll try to enjoy the quarter-final match tomorrow.”

Ferrer – Haas 7-5 4-6 6-4

This match was a competely different story from the previous oneas it took more than 2 hours for David to beat the German. After the match David had a couple of thoughts about the quarters vs. Rafa “I will try to play a really good match and see.

It’s not only about tactics. It’s just that Rafa is a really good player. It’s very difficult to beat him. We’ll see how it goes. I will try to play aggressively. I will try to miss as few balls as possible, and let’s hope that Rafa doesn’t have his day.”
