Serena Williams’ coach Mouratoglou features on Netflix. Naomi Osaka next

Netflix is more and more interested about tennis. Serena Williams' coach Mouratoglou appeared in a docuseries and Naomi Osaka will feature in a documentary.

Patrick Mouratoglou And Naomi Osaka

It seems that the tennis world is getting more and more mainstream. Serena Williams’ coach Patrick Mouratoglou is now part of an interesting Netflix docuseries called the Playbook and Naomi Osaka will be part of a documentary.

Mouratoglou’s docuseries is about 5 great coaches that have helped their players and teams to achieve greatness. As per Netflix:

“The Playbook profiles legendary coaches as they share the rules they live by to achieve success in sports and in life. Featured coaches include the Los Angeles Clippers’ Doc Rivers; two-time FIFA World Cup-winning coach Jill Ellis; Premier League’s José Mourinho; Serena Williams’ famed tennis coach, Patrick Mouratoglou; and hall of fame basketball player and coach Dawn Staley.”

Patrick Mouratoglou talked about how he helped Serena Williams to get back to be the world no.1 and win more slams. Apparently, everything started with Patrick saying to Serena: ” You are an under achiever!”

Naomi Osaka in Haiti for Netflix

Netflix was later interested in also including Naomi Osaka in one of its docuseries. Naomi hit the headlines and went mainstream again after winning the recent US Open, carrying a strong message in defense of the black community. Naomi is also an interesting character because of her multiethnicity. Naomi’s mother Tamaki is from Japan while her father Leonard is from Haiti and the world no.3 spent most of her life in the US. In addition, there are reports that Tamaki’s parents initially had a hard time accepting that their daughter was married to a person of color.

Naomi was caught visiting Haiti soon after winning her 3rd slam in New York. The Japanese sensation paid a visit to the “Osaka Foundation” to play also some tennis with the local kids. Later, Naomi posted some pictures of the beautiful island.

In Haiti, Naomi was in the company of her sister Mari and some people taking shots for Netflix. It’s not clear what is going to be the title of Naomi’s documentary. This is what is reported on Netflix:

“This docuseries follows tennis superstar and multiple Grand Slam champ Naomi Osaka in the high-pressure year running up to the 2020 Olympics in Tokyo.”

We are definitely looking forward to seeing it.
