Ranked no.68, Andrei had a much more complicated run in the group stage. In fact, after beating Taylor Fritz 4-2 1-4 3-4 (4) 4-3 (2) 4-2 and Liam Caruana 4-3 (7) 4-1 4-2, he had to bow to Alex De Minaur 4-1 3-4 (5) 4-1 4-2.
