What’s next for Naomi Osaka after early Wimbledon loss?

What's next for Naomi Osaka and what about her winning the US Open?

Naomi Osaka

To everyone’s shock, No.2 ranked player in the world, Naomi Osaka lost her first match in Wimbledon 2019 to Kazakhstan’s Yulia Putintseva. This was the second early Grand Slam exit in a row for Osaka, who was also eliminated in the French Open 3rd round.

This has led fans to wonder what could possibly be wrong with the 21-year-old. However, she’s still very young and has all the time in the world to correct her form. Today, we will see what’s in store for her as she will try to get back on her feet.

Can you bet on Osaka to win US Open again?

It’s hard to believe it has been almost a year since that historic final against Serena Williams, which brought Osaka her first Grand Slam. Just a few months ahead of the 2019 edition of the tournament, the two are still the top favorites to come away with the win according to most bookies, with a slight edge given to Serena. Tennis betting can sometimes be fairly difficult, as surprises happen all the time, which was the case with Osaka’s 2019 Wimbledon campaign. People often use free bets and bonuses so if you want to place a bet on the winner, visit  https://www.freebets.com/bet365 to get £100 in bet bonus credits.

Even though she represents Japan, Naomi has a huge fan base in the US that will support her which will certainly mean a lot to a young player like her. Despite having a disappointing year after winning the Australian Open in January, Naomi Osaka is still one of the favorites to win the US open and if you are looking to bet on a winner, she is definitely a top choice.

Jermaine Jenkins

Despite being a young coach, at just 34 years old, Jermaine Jenkins has built himself quite a resume over the years, and it was no huge surprise when Naomi Osaka decided to hire him as a replacement for the fired Sascha Bujin. But when things start to go south, people start to look back on these decisions and wonder if Osaka made a mistake firing the coach that led her to two Grand Slam wins in US and Australian Open. Read more about Sascha Bajin in here.

However, it is really hard to tell how big of an impact her new coach has had on Naomi’s recent struggles, as Jermaine Jenkins is a proven name in tennis that has known of nothing but success thus far. Despite a 13-7 record with him after going 9-1 with her previous coach, we firmly believe that Jermaine Jenkins is a great coach that will help Naomi achieve a lot of success in the future.

Can Naomi Osaka handle the pressure?

Beating Serena Williams in one of the biggest tournaments in the world is certainly an amazing achievement, especially for a then-20-year-old. But having that success brings about a ton of pressure from not only the media and fans but sometimes even friends, family and team, which can be very difficult for a young player to deal with.

We honestly think that this is exactly what happened to Osaka in the last few months, as she is simply too talented to lose early in a major tournament for the second time in a row. Maybe having all the spotlight on her is proving to be a little too much for the shy and reserved Naomi.

On the bright side, this is something that almost all young athletes have to go through, no matter what sport. With some players, you won’t even notice anything on the field, but pretty much everyone has to go through this at some point. This is why we think that learning how to deal with that nose and pressure, and going back to having fun playing the game she loves, will be the key for Naomi Osaka in the upcoming months and years of her career.
