During this week we will have two 500 ATP tournaments in Tokyo and Beijing.
Even if the super monsters (Nole and Rafa) are meant to play in China, we still have a very good line up in Tokyo. Del Potro, Tsonga, Raonic and Nishikori are the top 4 seeds
The favourites
Delpo and Tsonga are the picks, but last years’ finalists and seeds no3 and 4 Raonic and Nishikori will definitely have a say.
Del Potro
Delpo is now ranked world no.7 and he needs a good season end to get to the World Tour Finals. The Argentine will play Marcos Baghdatis in the opners (H2H is 2-2) to possibly clash against Berloq and Tipsarevic in the next 2 rounds. In the semis he might play Nishikori.
Tsonga
Jo is the favourite to win the tournament with Del Potro, but funny enough he may fall in the very first round ashe will play his dear friend and compatriot Gael Monfils in the opener. Head to head is 3-1 to Tsonga.
The next very tough opponent for Jo could be 2012 runner-up Raonic in the semifinal. Head to head is 2-0 for Jo.
Last year
Last year’s champion was local favourite Kei NIshikori that has defeated Milos Raonic 7-6 (3) 3-6 6-0.
