Nick Kyrgios and John McEnroe have a weird relationship. The American had an attitude like Nick during “his days” with his tremendous talent mixed with his tricky personality. Nick and John have been quarreling for long through the media with the American eager to use his similar experience to help the Australian that, instead, made it clear many times that he wasn’t thrilled to side with the former world no.1
Destiny wanted that McEnroe managed to be the coach of Nick at least for 1 week in occasion of the first Laver Cup as the captain of the World Team, and things went pretty well.

Nick was extremely pleased with his relationship with John for the last few days to comment
“We just had a lot of fun out on the bench. We were getting along well, and it was really good to have him out there.”
“He [McEnroe] was just telling me, you know, just leave it all out there, and it’s all right to lose to a good player. I was just telling him, like, ‘Mac; this is the way I am. It looks like this at times’.”
Why did you play tennis?
Nick added something funny about an exchange he had with John
“I actually told him, I was, like, ‘You don’t have the personality that I would have thought played tennis.’ I asked him, ‘Why did you play?’
He said, you know, ‘It’s the same reason you play. It’s because we are better at it than everything else that we do’.”
Can this one be another great partnership?
