Nadal on the Laver Cup: “I don’t wake up at 6am to practice for exhibitions”

Roger Federer & C. are working extremely hard to make the Laver Cup to look like a competition rather than an exhibition, and everyone seems to be aligned to this idea.

In fact, as soon as Roger came out with the concept early in 2016, many dismissed the event as just another exhibition (like the IPTL). The Swiss Maestro has always been extremely forward with the fact that this is a serious competition and everyone is extremely focused in giving his best.

During a recent press-conference, Rafael Nadal stressed Roger’s point to comment

“It’s not an exhibition at all. We are here to try our best; I wake up today at 6 am in the morning to practice. I don’t practice for an exhibition match. We are here to try our best and try to win.

We want to play with passion and to play for our continent, we have a great team behind us and want to do it well, let’s see if we are able to do it.”

Roger and Rafa will probably team up in doubles on Saturday. This means that they will be extremely serious in bringing 2 points to their team.
