Rafael Nadal has an amazing performance at the US Open when defeating Juan Martin Del Potro in 4 sets in the semi-final.
The Argentine started in great fashion to break Rafa in the 5th game of the opener (3-2) with the help of a net cord before winning the first set 6-4. Then everything was about Rafa that conquered 9 consecutive games to grab a solid 4-6 6-0 3-0 lead before winning the 3rd set 6-3.
Del Potro seemed to have steadied the boat also especially after he won the 1st game of the 4th set (1-0), but eventually, that was it! Nadal won the following 5 games (5-1) before conquering the contest 4-6 6-0 6-3 6-2 striking 45 winners vs. only 20 unforced errors.

During the post-match interview, Rafa commented
“After a couple of years of tough moments, it has been an emotional year. But being back on this amazing court and in front of this amazing crowd, and having the chance to fight for this title is amazing for me.”

Rafa has a clear shot at winning his 16th slam as the Mallorcan is definitely the favorite against Kevin Anderson in the final. Nadal has a 4-0 head to head record against the South African (9-1 in terms of sets).
