Madison Keys in the US Open final!

Finally, Madison Keys!

The American disintegrates her dear friend Coco Vandeweghe 6-1 6-2 in the US Open final to be probably the favorite to win the title. The match against Coco was just one-way traffic with Madison grabbing a 4-0 lead in just 11 minutes with Vandeweghe completely unable to play her best tennis. Things looked a bit better at the beginning of the second set for Vandeweghe just because she won the first game, but again, Madison won the following 5 to finally win the contest without breaking a sweat in 66 minutes.

About the final

Madison is now completely focussed on the final where she will play another dear friend: Sloane Stephens.

The American commented

“I have known Sloane since we were juniors. We played junior tournaments together. We have been on Fed Cup teams together. Whenever we are around, we try to go to dinner with each other and hang out.

I think Sloane is really good at defending, obviously, but I think we’re similar in the fact that we both like to try to attack and be on offense. I would say she’s probably more comfortable defending and not going for bigger shots before me, but I would say we are very similar in a lot of ways.”

The head to head at WTA level is 1-0 for Sloane, but this an really go anyway.
