Everyone would have been intimidated by the situation with such a hostile crowd that was screaming at every point won by Serena and every error committed by Bianca.

However, the Canadian sensation is well-known for being an incredible mental fortress. She managed to block the screaming even if she admitted that with that noise, she was struggling even to hear her points. Even more, the Canadian went 1 step further: she wanted to intimidate Serena!

During the press conference following the final, Bianca explained what she did to beat the American to comment:

“The game plan right from the start was to make her work for every ball, to get as many returns in the court as possible. I think she was intimidated a little bit by it.”
