Serena has a great opinion about Bianca Andreescu

Serena Williams and Bianca Andreescu

Bianca Andreescu and Serena Williams are going to face off in an exciting US Open final. On one side, the American legend is chasing Margaret Court’s record of 24 slams (Serena is at 23); on the other, Bianca is chasing her first major.

The Canadian and the American were meant to clash in the Toronto final last month, but unfortunately Serena had to withdraw when she was trailing 1-3 because of a back injury.

Serena and Bianca are in a completely different stage of their career. While Serena is chasing her last hurrahs, at 19 years of age, Bianca is at the very beginning of her career. Williams’ coach Mouratoglou is also a fan of Andreescu to state that she will be the world no.1 quite soon.

Bianca Andreescu’s strengths

During a press conference following her victorious semifinal against Qiang Wang, Serena Williams had the following comments about the young Canadian:

“She’s a great player. She mixes things up. You never know what is going to come from her. She does everything else. She serves well, moves well, has a ton of power. She’s very exciting to watch. It’s good. I think it’s great for women’s tennis.”
