Becker appointed as the head of German men’s tennis

Boris Becker was a fantastic champion during “his days” when he won 6 slams and 3 Tour Finals. The German has proved himself also as a great tennis coach after he managed to dramatically improve Novak Djokovic’s performance to help the Serb to dominate the tennis world for a couple of seasons and win 6 slams.

After these achievements, it was (sort of) obvious that Boris would have been 100% capable of helping his Federation and therefore he was appointed as the “head of German men’s tennis.”

Ulrich Klaus, the president of the German Federation, called for a press conference to say that “Boris Becker will be head of men’s tennis effective immediately and in this position, he will be in charge of the entire men’s game.”

Also, Boris will also have a consulting role in the Davis Cup team.

Becker’s statement

Boris commented

“Tennis is a matter of the heart for me. It is what I can do best. I don’t need to talk about my achievements as a player, and I am proud of my accomplishments as a coach.

I love this sport. I love this country, and I am happy again to play an important role in German tennis.”

No German has won a single slam since Boris has triumphed at the Australian Open in 1996. Zverev may end the drought pretty soon.
