Cici Bellis concedes only 2 games to Kvitova

18-year-old Cici Bellis is definitely a player to keep tabs on.

The American had a sensational match in the Stanford quarterfinal to demolish Petra Kvitova 6-2 6-0. The encounter lasted just 4 games till the couple was fighting on a 2-2 scoreline. Then the American won the following 10 games to pull out of the most remarkable upsets of the year in terms of the entity of the result.

Soon after the match, Cici commented

“I think this is definitely one of the biggest wins of my career. I’m just really happy with how I played, and really excited I was able to get through it.

I don’t think Kvitova played her best tennis, but on my side, I feel like just I played a real unbelievable match, from my standings.”

Next vs. Vandeweghe

Cici will face her compatriot Coco Vandeweghe in the semi-final. They have never played each other in a WTA event.
