Kiki Bertens had a tough, but successful Sunday in Gstaad.
The Belgian defeated Anett Kontaveit in 3 sets after she got extremely emotional when she was leading 2-1 in the decider before bursting into tears with her coach. Then, the Belgian won 4 consecutive games to win the match 6-4 3-6 6-1. Kiki couldn’t hold tears also after she converted her championship point.

After the win, Kiki commented
“It’s just been an amazing week here…the court is good, all the facilities are good for me.
You can say I really like it here…I was hungry to come here and really go for it, and I was really happy that I could go one more step today. Every day was going a bit better, and today I think I played my best match of the week.”
This is Kiki’s 2nd title of the season the 4th of her career. She will be ranked no.26 from next week.
