Something happened during the Wimbledon quarter-final between Simona Halep and Jo Konta.
The Romanian and the Briton were battling on Jo’s match point when somebody emitted an extremely sharp shriek that clearly disturbed the rally. Simona did the big mistake of stopping to play, and she ditched her forehand at the net. For a couple of seconds, it wasn’t clear what was going to happen, but eventually, the point was not repeated, and Jo won the match.
The point had to be repeated. HALEP
After the contest, Simona commented
“I was surprised that that lady was screaming. I thought he’s going to repeat the point. I think it’s normal to repeat the point when someone is screaming like that.”

Jo had a different point of view to say
“There were some overenthusiastic moments, which happens I think with every match where it comes to a tense moment. I think it’s a part of the sport, the crowd getting excited and sometimes getting a little too involved.”
