The American Frances Tiafoe has revealed his love story with the current girlfriend, Ayan Broomfield. He said that Ayan was a great support during the Rogers Cup.
Who is Ayan Broomfield?
Ayan Broomfield is a 20-year-old tennis player who had a high rank of 680th in the singles. Ayan is from Canada and she has won two ITF championships.
How all it started?
Tiafoe has revealed how his love story with Ayan started. It was a friend named Vickie Duval who asked us to start dating. He said:
“A friend, Vickie Duval, said in some 2015, earlier in that year, said you all should date.
And I thought, okay, that’s quite bold, but then, obviously Instagram these days and slid in her direct messages. It was quite weird. I don’t usually do it, and we started talking a little bit, and then I asked for her number.
And I was like, okay, well, the US Open is coming soon. You’re Canadian. Surely you came with your family or why not. She dodged it and tried to play hard to get, whatever, whatever. And then she eventually came in the end. She watched me play.
I think I played Georgia that year. It was 2017. And then mixed doubles. I spent some time with her. She had some family in Harlem, so I did a little bit of hanging out with her. I was like, jeez, we’re not even dating yet, and I’m already meeting your family.
We’re moving quite quick here, but that was another story. And then the last day there, I was like, I’m going home and you’re going back to Canada. You’re going to Clemson soon. Actually, UCLA. But I was, like, well, I guess this is my chance.
Can we date? And then I actually did it over FaceTime. I didn’t even do it in person. I’m not even going to lie. I was tight. I was tight. She said yes. She had a long pause and then said yes. And then that’s — yeah, the story goes on.”
Tiafoe talked about his career and said that he faced a lot of tough losses throughout his career:
“2016, 2017. I had match points in Indian Wells against (David) Goffin in 2018. I lost the doubles. I was six in the third in Acapulco. Obviously, Roger (Federer) in five. I mean, it was constantly a learning process for me. Now, since my first title, I’m starting to get over the hump and beating these guys.
I feel on any given day I’m ready to beat anyone. I’m not really nervous walking on the court. I feel right at home. So it’s a different mindset, I think.”

Ranked no.45, Tiafoe has an 18-19 win-loss record in 2019. Francis is currently playing at the U.S. Open where he defeated Ivo Karlovic (6-2 6-3 1-2 ret..)
Francis will take on Zverev in the 2nd round. The head to head is 3-1 for Zverev.
The last time that they competed against each other, won 6-4 6-4 in the 2nd round in Paris in October 2018.
