Sascha Zverev had a nice warm-up match with a resurgent Thanasi Kokkinakis at the Boodles. The German won the contest after a tight battle 7-6(4) 6-7(4) 10-2.

Soon after the encounter, Sascha commented
“It was great. Obviously, before it gets all serious at Wimbledon, it’s great to come out here, enjoy your time on court with a great crowd, and with Thanasi who’s a great friend of mine. So, it was an enjoyable match.”

Thanasi was also quite happy to comment
“It’s good fun playing a close mate. I’ve known Alex for a long time now, and he’s been doing some great things in the sport, it’s always fun to play him. I think the match went on a bit longer than most of us were expecting, but yeah, it’s good to get another match on the grass.”
That’s great to see Thanasi back to good levels.
