Alexander Zverev reaches the Halle final for the second consecutive year. In 2016, the German lost in the final against Florian Mayer after he defeated Federer in the semi-final. This year, Sascha will try to repeat himself against Roger in the match that will define the champion of this ATP500.

Zverev had to overcome a tough Richard Gasquet in the semi-final. The Frenchman was extremely effective in breaking Sascha’s rhythm and he even managed to win the first set. Then, the German came back strong to win the match 4-6 6-3 6-4.

The final vs. Federer

Sascha will play Roger Federer in the final. The head to head is 1-aal, but Zverev leads Roger 1-0 on grass after he defeated the Swiss in the Halle semi last year.

Sascha commented

“He[Federer] is the best of all time on this surface.  It will still be a very difficult match.”

Zverev has already won 3 titles this year (4 in his career). He will do everything he can to add another one.
