Why Agassi declined coaching Murray

Andy Murray enjoyed a huge success during his first stint with Ivan Lendl (2012). Unfortunately, that partnership ended in 2014, and the world no.1 was desperate to get somebody as good on his team. Eventually, Andy tried to lure Andre Agassi, but the American refused.


The problem was the commitment. MURRAY

According to Andy, Andre couldn’t give as much time as the Briton thought he needed. The world no.1 commented

“For what I needed at the time, he just didn’t think he would be able to give enough time for what I needed.”

Agassi may still have problems with his schedules, and he might even leave Paris at the end of this week. Therefore, Andre won’t be able to follow Nole in the second part (and most delicate) part of the tournament.
