At just 15-year-old Coco Gauff is one of the most exciting players in the upcoming US Open.
The American has impressed in Wimbledon after she reached the 4th round coming straight from the qualifications and beating her childhood idol Venus Williams.
Currently ranked 141, Coco obtained a wildcard for the main draw of the last slam of the year. She will face Anastasia Potapova in her opening match, and she is scheduled to play on the Louis Armstrong Stadium on Tuesday at 3 pm.
Coco Gauff’s training
The young American has never hidden her desire to be a world no.1. Coco is used to training at the Academy of Serena Williams’ coach Patrick Mouratoglou. Patrick was impressed when she saw the young American back in the days to comment:
“I’ll always remember the first time I saw Coco. She came over to the Mouratoglou Academy in 2014 to try out, and she impressed me with her determination, athleticism, and fighting spirit. When she looks at you and tells you she will be number one, you can only believe it.”
