Nadal overtakes Federer as world no.1 in YTD rankings

Rafael Nadal is having one of his “vintage results” during this clay court season to win in sequence Monte Carlo, Barcelona, and Madrid. The Spanish sensation has overtaken in the year to date rankings (YTD) Roger Federer that was also in “vintage form” after he won the Australian Open, Indian Wells, and Miami.

Nadal

After triumphing in Madrid, Rafa won 1000 points to lead the rankings with 7,735 points (690 more than Roger).

Thiem

Dominic had another great week after he bowed in Madrid only to Nadal. After getting these 600 points, the Austrian is the new world no.3 (YTD).

Djokovic

Nole reached the semi-final in Madrid before being dismissed by Rafa. After this result, the Serbian gained seven places to be ranked no.16 (he won’t be happy about that).

Murray

Andy had an extremely disappointing week in Madrid after he lost in the 3rd round to Lucky Loser Borna Coric. Andy is still ranked no.11 (YTD)
