Why playing on clay would have been too much. FEDERER

Roger Federer has staged a sensational comeback after he won the Australian Open, Indian Wells, and Miami at the beginning of 2017. The Maestro was wise enough to listen to his body and to decide to take a two months’ break (i.e. skipping the clay court season) so has to be fresh for the stint on grass and the North American summer.

Why I decided to have a break. FEDERER

During a recent interview, Roger explained

“In Dubai, I realized that I needed a break. After Indian Wells and Miami, I understood that playing in the clay season would have been too much.

Having decided to skip the first part of the clay season, I thought that I would attend the Gala [in Seattle with Bill Gates] and spend the weekend in America.”

Federer should now spend a couple of weeks with his family; in May, If he is well, he might train on clay to get ready for the Roland Garros. There are rumors that he will also skip the French Open.

Let’s see how it goes.
