Kyrgios will not play in Monte-Carlo

Nick Kyrgios had a rather busy schedule recently after he flew from Miami (where he lost in the semi to Federer) to Brisbane where he was decisive for his team to beat the USA in the Davis Cup tie. The Australian was meant to fly directly to Monte-Carlo, but that was obviously too much for his body and he (wisely) decided to skip the ATP1000.

The explanation from Nick

The Australian commented

“I was hurting physically and they [his team] did well to keep me in good shape so we could get into the semi-finals. I have been taking care of my body the last few months. I have had my physio with me every day. I need a rest. Emotionally this week takes it out of you. I’ll look forward to the clay court season. I had some good results last year.”

Nick will start his clay-court season in Estoril where he reached the final in 2015.
