US OPEN. Amanda is getting ready to be fully fit

Amanda Ansimova training

Amanda Anisimova could be one of the surprises at the upcoming US Open. The 17-year-old has already the experience of having deep runs during slams after she got to the semifinal at the recent Roland Garros. In addition, she has already claimed the scalp of many top players such as Petra Kvitova, Simona Halep and Aryna Sabalenka. Amanda was also close to defeating barti in the French Open final 4 after she won the 1st set and she was 1-break-up in the 2nd and 3rd set.

Even if the American is one of the hottest names ahead of the last slam of the season, her chances may be hampered by a tricky low back injury that made her skip the last 2 events in Toronto and Cincinnati.

Will Anisimova play the US Open?

Amanda is doing everything she can to reinforce her lower back with specific exercises. There are no new reports about the evolution of her injury and it’s safe to say that she will give it a go also because she will expect the full support of the local crowd.

Last year at the US Open, Amanda lost in the opening round to Taylor Townsend 3-6 6-4 6-3. However, soon after she had an amazing run in Hiroshima where she reached the final starting from the qualifications.
