Rafael Nadal is reported to get married with his long-term girlfriend Maria Francisca Perello finally. According to El Mundo, the wedding will take place in Mallorca on the 19th of October. This date comes after the Rolex Masters in Paris and right before the ATP500 in Basel and Vienna.
Why Federer may attend the wedding
Rafa and Roger enjoy a special relationship that transcends their incredible rivalry. We have still in our minds when they partnered in doubles at the Laver Cup 2 years ago. Recently, they were also spotted having a lot of fun in a bar in Wimbledon also with the company of Dominic Thiem, Sascha Zverev and Fabio Fognini.
During a recent interview, talking about his future retirement, Roger commented that he will miss a lot the daily contact with the “other family” (the tennis players). He stated that he hoped to be in touch with his real friends on tour. When he was asked for a name, in particular, he immediately said: “Rafa.”
Since the Swiss Indoors in Basel will commence the 21st of October, it is plausible that, if invited, Federer will get a “quick” flight to attend the ceremony.
