PERFECT Murray wins the title in Dubai

Andy Murray ends an extremely successful week in Dubai after conquering his 45th career title in style.

Andy was completely dominant in the final against Fernando after coping with a slow start. In fact, the Briton lost his first two service games to trail by a 1-3 scoreline in the opener. Then Andy found his footing to win five consecutive games and grab the first set (6-3). There was no contest in the second set when Murray dropped just one point on his serve while the Spaniard was struggling in every single game. Eventually, the world no.1 won 6-3 6-2 in just 73 minutes.

I played better as the match progressed. MURRAY

Andy was extremely happy with his win. And he conceded that he got better and better during the contest. The Briton commented

“It’s nice to win, and I played much better as the match went on. I started a little bit slow, but I was solid. I wasn’t afraid to attack his forehand side. He’s got one of the best forehands, but I tried to move him around the court as much as I could.

I defended pretty well and moved well. I served a lot better as the match went on. It was obviously good to win the first tournament here. Maybe today it could have been a bit of nerve. Yesterday I didn’t feel particularly nervous, but today, sometimes in a final there is a bit more pressure. You’re playing for something, and sometimes you want to start a little bit quicker.”

Andy won the tournament after he saved seven match points against Kohlschreiber.

IT’S ANDY NO.45!
