Murray disintegrates Garcia-Lopez in Dubai

Andy Murray had a remarkable performance against Gullermo Garcia-Lopez in Dubai to trash the Spaniard 6-2 6-0

There is not much to comment about this contest as Andy was absolutely no match for the Spaniard. Eventually, the Brit scored 62 points vs. Gullermo’s 35.

The early break was key. MURRAY

After the match, Andy conceded that everything went well after he broke Garcia-Lopez for the first time in the 4th game.

“When I got the early break, pretty much was almost 30 minutes in and we’d only played four games,” Murray commented.

“Mentally, that was important for me, you know, to be up at that stage. I loosened up a bit after that and played really well.”

Next vs. Kohlschreiber

In the quarters, Andy will face the world no. 29 Philipp Kohlschreiber. Even if the Briton has a reassuring 4-1 win/loss record against Philipp, the German has always managed to win at least 1 set per match against Andy.

Talking about his upcoming match, Andy commented

“Every time we have played, we have had a lot of close matches. He is a talented guy, he uses the angles of the court well, and he plays with a lot of spin.”
