Nick Kyrgios loses to a very good Jo-Wilfried Tsonga in Marseille. The Australian was eager to defend his title I France, but Jo-Wilfried played a really good match to defeat the Australian in 3 sets.  There was not much difference between the two, and in fact, at the end of the day both scored the same amount of points (97). Nick may recriminate on the fact that he wasn’t able to capitalize on a 1 break up lead in the first set after he failed to serve out when he was 5-4 up, but full credit to the Frenchman.

The final vs. Pouille

Tsonga will play an all-French final against Lucas Pouille that has defeated Richard Gasquet 7-5 6-3 in the other semi-final. The head to head is 1-0 for Tsonga, but that was on clay.
